Dog Clothing Size Guide

Dog clothing sizes are not standard. A medium in one product can be nowhere near a medium in another, so measuring your dog is much more reliable than choosing by breed name.

Measure the chest

Measure around the widest part of your dog's chest, usually just behind the front legs. This is often the most important measurement for jackets and tops.

Measure the neck

Measure around the base of the neck where a collar or garment neckline would sit. Leave enough room for comfort.

Measure the back

Measure from the base of the neck to the base of the tail. Do not include the tail itself, however committed your dog is to participating.

Between two sizes?

Use the individual product chart. If your dog sits between sizes, chest fit is often the deciding measurement for fitted garments.

FAQs

Can I choose clothing based on breed?

Breed can be a rough guide, but individual dogs vary significantly. Measurements are more reliable.

How should dog clothing fit?

It should allow normal walking, sitting and toileting without rubbing, restricting breathing or cutting into the legs or neck.
